This question is for you Canadians. Air Guns are legal in Canada, aren't they? Ty will sit for hours shooting targets and I was contemplating taking our .22 cal. up. I don't want to run into a hassle at the border though because of it. I will look into it more on the Canadian Customs website, but I thought I would throw the question out there. Thanks
Brad
I can't say for sure but last year a family had air guns in camp shooting targets
I don't think you'll have a problem unless it's more that 475 fps. power.
Anything higher than that,we need a gun licence up here.
Best to check with the customs department before you leave home.
good question. I'm interested to hear what you decide/ find out.
I keep telling myself I'm going to buy a compound bow and arrow to take north and practice with at the cabin.... they're considered sporting goods from what I researched and no issues at the border.
Hi Brad:
You should be able to find the answers you're after at http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/visit-visite-eng.htm

Just another suggestion in case your stopped at the border.
Make sure you declare it.
Make sure it is in a gun case.
make sure it has a trigger lock on it.
Thanks everyone for the input. RHYBAK the gun I was thinking of taking shoots around 950 fps, so that doesn't sound good for my cause. I don't think it's worth registering it and going through the hassle at customs to target shoot for a week up north with it, so that answers that question. Thanks again everyone.
@Dog I think you are right about the compound bow, I would take mine but Ty isn't strong enough to draw it and shoot it yet...
Brad
You can always buy a cheep one at Bass Pro,Cabela's or Epps once your in Canada ,then leave it at the cabin for future trips.
