It looks like there's a glimmer of hope for late August. Jon and I usually go up in early-mid July and get on the water by 5:30-6:00 and fish till dusk. I know the days will be shorter on this trip-August 28th.-September 3rd. What time do you Sept. guys hit the Lac for the walleye bite?
Firstly, how great is it that you are planning a trip. Go with it…the planning and anticipation is half the fun. I fish through the summer and into the fall. I’d say just let the sun guide you…conditions will be substantially similar, just a bit different on the clock. Late August would be say a 6 or 6:30am start, with the typical evening bite hitting about 7 til 8:40 or so? Fish tend to be in deeper water. I have always caught bigger fish in late August. Good thing is, cold beer still tastes the same. Tell John to try a Hockley Valley lager or a Muskoka Brewery mix selection…I know he was a craft beer guy in the past. Enjoy that trip to your outpost…..
Thanks, Balsams. I'm still hoping it comes off. Yves was really good about moving our time. I'll tell Jon. He can't believe I drink Bud Lite.
We go out when the fish are biting and come in when they stop. 😜
Just change ur time to the sun change…not a hard calculation…just a shorter day…
We generally go up the day you are going home.
We don’t rush out in the morning because we get the fish all day.
We go out three times a day
Morning, afternoon the till dark.
Our evening fish starts around 6PM .
Best about 6:30 but then steady till dark in around 28 fow tossing jigs
Leeches are hard to get that time of year but worms work just as good.
Good luck with both the border opening and the fishing if you make it.
Thanks RHYBAK.
