Does anyone know of a place to rent a sat phone in Northbay or Temiscaming? I am considering a short term rental while in the bush to check in with family as well as safety reasons.
For the first number of years, we used a local Ottawa business to provide us satellite phone rental. Unfortunately, he went out of that business because his costs were too high for the small market he served.
Consequently, for the last 5 years, we've rented our satellite phone via Roadpost (https://www.roadpost.ca/). Roadpost's process (obtaining/returning the satellite phone) has been very satisfactory. Having access to a satellite phone is important to us. Consequently, we arrange delivery a couple of days before our departure to ensure we have it for our fishing trip. Our rental period is routinely 11 days. Renting through Roadpost has worked for us.
