We're headed to the Alwaki outpost the second week of August. It will be our first time there. So, if I may, a couple of questions:
Do you mostly stay on Lac Audoin to fish, or head out to the main lake?
In addition to hoping for some fine fishing, we'd like to take some day trips, or maybe go for a paddle between bites. Any nice lunch spots in the area, or other scenic destinations you would recommend?
Thanks!
Got what you need. Will PM you tomorrow.
Thanks T-Bone, looking forward to it. I appreciate you taking the time especially with your departure imminent.
From the trip reports I've read about this place, it sure does sound like we're in for a treat. I took an extended lunch break today and, like, quintupled my jig collection. No matter what colour is hot up there right now I'm good to go... 'cause I think I got them all....
Sorry SOM...day got away from me. I'll get you that info tomorrow.
No worries T-Bone. Hey maybe someone else here will chime in and take the pressure off ;)
I know from reading trip reports that a few of you have been to Alwaki and loved it as much for the surroundings as the fishing. I'll be there with my wife for the same reasons... she canoe trips with me all the time but has never put up her feet (hung her hat?) at an outfitter's cabin. It's vitally important she enjoys it, otherwise it's back to tenting in the rain which she actually does enjoy.... Anyways, for starters I'm looking for the Shangri-La of shore lunch spots - but not having been in the area around the outpost before, any pearls of wisdom would be welcome. And to all of you who will be out there next week, stay warm!
You have a PM.
Likewise, thanks.
