We are going to try to post updates from the trail cam located at Sunnyside.
It will help with the folks watching iceout, and just let people see the conditions there.
It is a trail cam and not a webcam,so i apoligize no online video for anyone to watch.
It is a spypoint flex cellular cam. It is attached to a small solar panel along with a cell signal booster to a single car battery. It is a super simple setup, and we are amazed it has ran all winter with no intervention from us. Reassuring to know if anyone is there we can see them. Although so far its mostly been friends and random foxes. However we have seen plenty of bear turds so i am sure we will see one sooner or later.
Anyways enjoy the pics...the first one is in HD
Judging by the sign of snowfall, its a bit of a step backwards from my last post.

I was told sales are down so no overtime or mandatory Saterdays all summer!woohoo.
We will be adding a large number of kilometers to the new vehicle thats for sure.
This years project is a bunkie up there.
So we will likely be seeing you soon!
Cheers

Sounds good, you will be just around the corner.
Here's the pic from today.
A balmy 13 degrees.
Looks like the shore ice is breaking up.
Camera caught a bird in flight.spypoint.jpg
I think we're closing in on 20cm of heavy wet snow down here at home (south of Ottawa). I wonder what Kipawa picked up.....
Looking At this mornings pic from sunnyside it doesn't look like they got much snow.
The shoreline is opening up.
There is only a couple more cm in the forcast then by sunday the weather looks glorious.
I will add a few cool shot in the ice out post from easter that my friends took.IMG_20240404_120740.jpg
Here is the April 6 update!

Open water in pic today.
Getting some reports that the lake opened up yesterday..
Hilarious oximoron. Lake opens during a snow blast! It'd be cool to live there...for a full year. Then head south for a year to warm up!
Water is rising fast!

I know some folks are watching the water levels, so i will try to keep up until it gets close to summer levels.
Here is the last 2 days.

Very nice to see water under the dock.
We are planning on our first trip to camp next weekend to open up, and get the solar systems fired up.

That white stuff came back..haha

While its kind of sad seeing the white crap once again, the water levels have risen nicely.

Here on Lake Temiscaming water is at summer levels. good thing there is no more snow or ice to melt

We were up at the cabin this weekend as well. The "storm" they kept calling for never really amounted to much. We had on and off rain (but not overly heavy) Saturday and Sunday was actually quite pleasant with some sun peeking through the clouds now and then. Over-all a decent weekend....

Looks like the rising lake water levelshave slowed down the last few days.
Hello everyone.
Pics were delayed as we were up at camp for the weekend. Started to see bugs about.
I am back this weekend for a weeks vacation/work and we are pretty much expecting to see blackflies.I would be shocked but very happy if that was not the case.
With water levels inches from summer normals i will probably be only posting random pics from time to time.
Cheers

Grass is greening up nice there!
Quote from: Fort Wisers on May 07, 2024, 04:31:52 PMGrass is greening up nice there!
Sadly it was ready to cut in most places.
So i already know one day next week is just yardwork.
Most plants were budding so if i want easy brushcutting i best be on that as well.
Still better than work back in the city.
Cheers!
Hello everyone.
I hope that you all have been having a great season so far.
The conditions have definately been keeping us on our toes this year.
Lots of intense heat, mixed with rain, winds, storms. A challenging year on the water for sure.
Perhaps the fall will be easier fishing..
I haven't posted on this board in some time, and as i sit with a rare couple free minutes i thought i would share a pic of a couple visitors we have had.
I understand the town of Temiskaming is having some issues with bears this year.
We normally see signs of them at our camp.
This is the first sighting we have had this year. Last one looks rather cute.. haha.
Cheers everyone!Spypoint_20240822_074745.jpg
