As the season begins, I will be interested to hear any reports from anyone travelling from the USA to our brothers to the north regarding any difficulties related to the current political situation. I'm not interested in anyone's political philosophy here (not the time or place). Just let us all know whether it was a smooth trip. Any difficulties at the border or in Canada proper? How about coming back into the USA? The thread is open. (BTW, admins, lets get rid of any political commentary if it pops up.)
I totally second what Joe is asking for here. Thanks in advance for any info.
Crossed the border into Canada at Lewiston about a week ago. Extremely smooth no issues or hassle. Will be headed back next Friday will update then.
I haven't heard of any issues with Americans crossing into Canada. Why would we keep tourists out?
You have the usual things to prepare for like: the amount of alcohol, tobacco etc.
Buy your live bait here as worm bedding is an issue.
No firewood, fireworks, guns, pepper spray allowed no matter how far into the wild you're going. Practice smart camping.
Have at least a birth certificate for your kids or a letter of permission for grandkids etc.
A rabies certificate for your pets.
A library card or a Permit To Carry is not a valid citizenship document.
Of the top of my head, those are the big ones.
Have fun on your vacation and post pics.
Absolutely no issues either way....fastest border crossings ever. Nothing out of ordinary...no new questions...and then you're on your way.
Hi Joe
We are taking off tomorrow and will cross the boarder around 11pm 6/10/25. I have been watching the boarder cameras for Detroit. Everything looks like it is running smooth. I will repost when we open camp.
went over at Ogdensburg ,Ny and back at Alexandria Bay crossing on way back. No issues both ways.
