I received terrible news this morning. Capt. Guy, my long time fishing partner and best friend, passed away last night. I can't believe it. He was bigger than life. He taught me most everything I know about fishing and was always there for me. I will miss him so much. Gary.
On,
@Oarin , sincerest condolences go to you and his family. It was easy to see how much you guys enjoyed your time together fishing. So sorry to hear this. :(
Thanks Nancy, there will be a huge void in my life until my time comes too.
Hi Gary:
The news of Mark's passing is just unbelievable shocking news. I'm sitting here in front of my display just shaking my head. I so much enjoyed the couple of hours each August that I got to visit with you and Mark at the Auberge. I'm going to miss those visits. RIP Mark. My condolences Gary.
Jay
Thanks Jay, I know Mark enjoyed our visits too, as did I. I'll miss him. Gary.
I am sorry to hear this news Oarin, though I never met him in person, he has been a part of the two discussion boards and has loved Kipawa for a long time. He will definitely be in our thoughts and prayers...
Brad
Sorry for your loss Oarin. It was only a few days ago that I read your comments about Guy in your recent post of "How you found out about Kipawa?" I am sure Guy appreciated reading such nice comments and appreciated your friendship equally.

One Saturday morning about 3-4 years ago my wife and I were having breakfast at the Canadian Motel restaurant and struck up a conversation with a fellow about the kipawa.net forum and fishing in general on Kipawa,he introduced himself as Captain Guy de la Poisson. It was certainly a pleasure meeting him.Our thoughts and prayers.

OMG life is short. Here I am peed off at the Leafs. And another good man leaves us for the great gig in the sky. God bless him, he was loved and honored here. My thoughts go out to all of us and his family. Lets all enjoy the time we have left. Life is to short for strife. Tight lines bro. I'll be thinking of you.
Thanks everyone, every trip to Kipawa I get to make in the future I will bring my memories of "Capt. Guy with me.
Oarin, very sorry to hear this news. Reading of your adventures with Captain Guy over the years has been a highlight when visiting the Kipawa web sites. He always said that you were "The best net man east of the Mississippi." God must have felt that he is able to land his own fish now. He, his family and friends will be in my prayers. Take care.

Hey Kathy and Mike, maybe he can trick God with his screaming rabbit!
Ha ha, I think he just might be able to do that!
There are endless supplies of people you can strike up a conversation with at the water cooler or the local bar or bus stop.... but the number of people who you can spend a few hours, days or a week with in a boat...the ones that are just as happy to see you catch the big one, the ones that smile when you screw up a net job, the ones that will share the last beer even though you are several ahead..not so many. Any one who has ever lost a fishing or hunting buddy knows the empty feeling. Just let the memories of the good times help you through the bad. thinking of you and all of those who have departed boat mates.
Thanks again guys. Today was Mark's funeral and I was dreading it, but there were lots of photos of our trips and other great times we had and times with his other many friends. I got to talk to other good friends of Mark and share stories with them. We're all going to miss him, but nothing will kill our great memories. RIP my friend. Gary, AKA Oarin Tushore, as Capt. Guy called me.
Gary - my dad just called today and told me the sad news. We're all incredibly sad and sorry for your loss. My grandmother always told me, "Mikey, don't waste your days - you never know if you're gonna get more." This sad news just reaffirms that piece of advice. TBL has certainly lost a friend.
Mike Miller & family
Thanks Mike, your parents are very special people. It was very kind of them to call me. Gary.
