Title: Exchange rates
Post by: fishtildark on July 08, 2015, 06:40:55 PM
A while back there was a lot of dialogue about exchange rates. I just opened the visa Statement and thought I would share for the campers yet to go north. I used the visa in Temiscaming on June 5th and got about 1.24 Canadian for an American dollar. Don't know if its better or worse than what other places offered but it is better by a long shot than we got when we bought Canadian back in April. two caveats... our outfitter doesn't take cards so we are forced to use cash . second, my visa is a southwest rapid rewards that doesn't charge foreign currency exchange fees.
anyway, safe travels and leave some for next year...Sam

I doubt if any of the outfitters take credit cards.  Most CC companies charge the business to use them, plus the probable needs for a hard line connection rules them out.   sigh ...
