Got a feeling going to be a long spring. With hardly any rain nor high temps (Above 10c) in the next ten days, Kipawa Lake is going to stay tight, imo. Was at the govt dock few minutes ago and took a few shots (pics.....). Hard to believe trout season opens in 12 days. I met a few snowmobilers riding the trails along side the highway, that itself is downright depressing, lol.
On an encouraging note, it's a well known fact around here that the ice was not good all winter so when it does start to go, it should go quickly.
Our houses were snow free last week then we got a foot of snow and it has stayed cold since, so most of us still have snow on our roofs. When I went to bed last night, it was -18c, that's about -.4F I believe.
These pics were taken from the govt dock today at 3:00 pm.

Great post crunchie. Thanks for sharing!

Nice pics. I heard 5-10cm more tonight. Then above freezing the rest of the week.
All I can say is 'Wow, thats looks like a lot of white stuff'.
Hope it goes away soon.
Looks snowy. Yuck.
Snow last night in Bracebridge, +17 on the weekend!!
Got up to 18c today in Temiscaming, whoohoooo. We changed our boat last fall and only used it about a month. We're getting itchy to get it out, I guess it just feels like it's taking too long, lol.
Not to fear, global warming is here...
Dog, a retired meteorologist told me while we were fishing once that he thought the jury was out on the global warming bandwagon.
From where I sit; it looks like spring will eventually make an appearance in the Kip area.
