Title: Lake Dumoine
Post by: DumoineCap on June 21, 2016, 09:27:57 AM
Going to lake dumoine on july 16th.  will be my 8th year in a row.  Fishing was though last year (weather was winding and hot) hopefully that contributed.  Have had many nice trips to lake dumoine.  Eric and jamie always welcoming.  Any one know if the wash out at mile marker 117 is fixed?  Also any trip reports from dumoine?

The only ones that can help you on the wash issue are Eric or Jamie, they travel it every week. I have fished Dumoine since 1980 and use to come up the Kipawa river through Red Pine Lake and fish Dumoime for two weeks, there was some good fishing in the river also. The best I found was in the Dumoine River just past the rapids, the walleyes were so thick it got old catching them. The road into Dumoine sure was a blessing and beat the heck out of going up river in the canoe. Good luck I leave to go to Dumoine July 26 for a week.

Gentlemen, We head into Dumoine on July 4th this year. We have been there since 1993 and use to love the fly-in experience but times have changed. I will try to give a road update when we return. Expecting the usual. Maniwki is good, Red Pine is a little rough but has been better the last few years and the Bearn gets rougher as you go. The big hills and washboard is always a joy. We have been staying in cabin 3 the last 10 years or so and enjoy the south end of the lake. Have been in June, bugs are tough, and later July which can be very hot which slows things down. First of July has been good to us of late.If anyone has been in that far would love to hear a report.

When fishing with the guys we'd bring 10 dozen buns - keep most in the fridge/freezer and pull out a dozen at a time and they kept fine.

Mental note: need to add buns to shopping list for next weeks trip.  Thanks!

Nice Dumoine Stories, My grandfather used to go to dumoine when it was fly in and Rick owned the camps.  Lots of family stories.
