I just talked to an old friend of mine who is up on Kip as I write this who said the water levels are up to normal summer levels already, The dam is wide open, and the grand chutes must look spectacular! When I wrote this the water levels were 269.55 meters above sea level. The upper limits on the dam are said to be 269.75. That means the lake can only go up another 7.87 inches.
Not sure I am reading this right, but... the chart is saying that there is 281 cubic meters of water a second going over the dam right now. (1 cubic meter = 264.17 gal.) In other words that is 74,231.77 gallons a second. If thats right, that is amazing!

Thats gotta be amazing to see that water going over the dam. I was at camp last weekend and the water was just gushing under the bridge. The water level was a good 18 inches over "normal" summer levels and rose a good 3 inches over the long weekend. It was great, it allowed me to clear up a bunch of logs that were stuck to my shoreline. I floated them into the lake and dragged them to a bay where they wouldn't be in anybody's way. i was glad to get rid of them. :)

I think it's cool too. No doubt, that is a lot of H2O
looks like according to the levels link on this forum, the swell from thaw is about over and levels are stabilizing...
Water level at camp is starting to lower to normal levels after being about a foot higher then "normal" water quality is getting clearer too
