Yes the Petro is closed across from the Auberge Canadienne, it was supposed to open this spring but there was some snags which I will not elaborate on the forum because I don't know the facts for sure. The general population is not sure if it will open again, there are rumors that the building may have to come down to re-build, if that happens.....
I wanted to post this earlier but thought most of you were maybe aware already.
crunchie, thank you for the info, it is better to know that kind of things before we pull into town and get a big shock.

That is news we are glad we know in advance. We have always purchased our licenses there. Did buy them at 102 Stop way back when. We always drive up on a Sunday any idea how late 102 is open on a Sunday? Thanks in advance !
We get our license at Kipawa Bait. They sell good bait also!

Open till 11:00 pm every day.
Thanks Crunchie that works. We usually roll in about 8
Thanks again !
Hmmmmm...we also bought our licenses there, and gassed up for the final trip back. Now I guess we will gas up at that first station at the corner of the bypass road and get licenses at the 102 Stop, unless there are other suggestions.
For the guys who haven't yet bought fishing licences when we arrive in Témiscaming, we get them at Pronature, across the street from the Petro Canada Gas station at 1625 chemin Kipawa. Their telephone number is 819-627-9432. We have also bought good quality crawlers there. Please do not interpret this post as a negative comment against Dépanneur Stop 102 right next door at 1623 chemin Kipawa (819-627-3190). We also shop there for beer, groceries, and ice. Just providing another option in response to Norton Joe's post.

For several years we bought the licenses at stop 102 and then there was a period of time that they no longer sold them . I assume that is now not the case. wondering about the hours they or Pronature are open. we always get in to temiscaming around 6 pm and leave early Saturday morning.

Not that it changes anything but just to give the members some info. The "potential new owners" of the Petro gas station was supposed to be the actual owners of the Stop 102 store, which was supposed to close down once the they took over the Petro site.
Hi Crunchie
Do you know if they are planning to put the gas pumps back in?
I was told that the gas tanks were faulty which is why they never sold Super Hi test gas. I'll talk to Jim and Cindy today and let you know their plans.
Thanks crunchie for keeping us up to date on the situations there in town.

Glad to help. Have more info. The Petro site have started selling propane monday, wednesday and thursday. Also the car wash is open. This may or not, give an indication that things may go ahead although behind schedule. I could add comments but they would just be hearsay and would rather not. I will however note that Cindy and Jim have posted a comment on FB about the propane and car wash being available......
I stopped in to Stop 102 and they told me they are indeed planning on opening the service station and that red tape is what's holding it up.
