Title: Bait and tackle shop on the way to Kipawa
Post by: Magic Mike on June 01, 2017, 11:23:49 AM
Going up to Kipawa Outpost June 8 for the second time, rented 2 houseboats again this year (since we are 9) from Paul and Tammy. Can anyone tell me where to get worms and leeches on the way up? I was also wondering how deep the walleye will be next week in your expert opinion with spanning done and all, I assume still pretty shallow?

Can't wait to be on the water...

Here is a link from our Discussion Forum.
Give Pronature or Kipawa bait a call and reserve what you will require.

ProNature is next to Stop 101  And Kipawa bait is at the Government docks in Kipawa.

Magic Mike,

Fish should start to be coming into the shallows June 8th but it is a little later spawn.

I would start in the 15 - 20 foot range then work your way to the 5ft range.

Magic Mike, where do you get houseboats from and how much do they cost?

We have always thought of renting a boat but did not want to haul it all the way up there. If it is somewhere in Canada might not be too bad.

As of yesterday Walleye are still in 40 ft of water.  I head up in a week so we will see.  I also agree the spawn was late so everything is behind.

Big chief, houseboats cost around $700 for 4 days, which I find acceptable since you can be 8-9 on it.

Magic Mike,
Thanks for the info. I misread your first post and thought you meant you would be at TBL outpost. Got the website for this place and may try it out next year. Do you take a small boat to wander off or do you fish exclusively from the house boat?

Hey big chief, we do bring up our 16 foot Princecraft to fish around. We do leave a line in the water on the houseboat while having dinner and stuff.
