Seems like it has been a rough last few months for friends of the board and members. Just want to pass along that John passed away this morning. Some of you know that he has been nursing a abdominal aortic aneurism for several years. It started leaking yesterday afternoon and he passed away early this AM. I am surely going to miss my fishing buddy.
I am so sorry to hear... :( . Sending my condolences.
Nancy

Nancy, there are times in life where words just don't seem to express what all we feel. This is one of them. You're in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss, my condolences to you and family.
Wasn't it just yesterday that you guys found a way to double up on trips this year? Good that he was able to do what he wanted, and spend time doing what he wanted to do and who he wanted to be with. Wasn't it John who was always cold? Wearing sweatshirts in the summer?
So sorry for your loss.
Thank you so much everyone. It truly means alot. And yes,
@CaptainCrappie I realize it is difficult to come up with the words you are searching for. I definitely understand that.
Yes,
@Balsams, John was always very cold blooded and much worse after he had his heart attack 10 years ago. I believe we have been doubling up on our trips for 3 years now. In September when we made that last minute trip, I wasn't sure if we should do it. Being a woman, I am the worry-wart and worried about money. He really wanted to go. I could see it in his eyes more than anything. I thought if anything would happen to him, I would kick myself 100 times over. I am sooooo thankful we did that trip now.
Part of his layers of clothes and always wearing his Guidewear in the summer came from one day we were out fishing. It was the first year he had his guidewear. We had it in a bag in the boat. There were bad dark storm clouds to the north of us. I asked him, do you want your raingear? He said no, it is going north of us. About 4 minutes later, we got soaked in one of the 2 worst storms we were in up there. So he got so he would wear it when he left the cabin, no matter what the weather was. I remember
@T-Bone was harassing him about his raingear on bluebird days. Last year when he was putting his raingear on during a bluebird day, I asked him about it. He said he didn't want to disappoint T-Bone. :)

So sorry to hear about your loss.
While I've never met you or John, please accept my condolences.
@Nancy I remember the summer before my father-in-law passed away we had gone up to Lake Watson in June and had a great trip (well other than the darn bugs). Later that summer he kept saying he wanted to go back up. I was newly married (not much cash) and my in-laws were not rich people. But, something prodded us to go...so we did, that August. Had a second great trip and a lot of fun. That November he died in an industrial accident...thank you Lord for moving us to go that second time! Again Nancy, very sorry for your loss...prayers go out to you and your family.
Joe
