Looking for the best place to do a fly-in fishing trip leaving from Pennsylvania. Looking at going with my son as a graduation present so I still have a few years to plan it out but looking for suggestions or past experiences.

Not sure how far you are willing to drive or travel, but I saw this come up on my facebook post a couple of days ago and I checked out their website and location, etc.... some great pictures and a pretty good web site. Not so much a fly in but still very remote.

Has your son been to Two Moons with you? The reason I ask is, besides the experience of the float plane ride, I personal enjoyed Kipawa as well and even more than my Fly-in to the reservoir Gouin. If you have been taking him to Kipawa and want to do something different, I understand. The Talston Bay NWT, trip report looked very interesting, but I'm certain pricey.
I'd look into Kesagami Lodge, certainly one of the premier fly in lodges and a ton of outpost cabins/ lakes. Discounts for younger generation.

I consider Air Tamarac a first rate outfitter. We stayed in cabin 26 (great cabin) at the north end of the lake. Lac Hebert is a walleye factory and everyone that goes catches a lot of walleye and some northerns. The four of us landed over 700 walleye and 60 northerns. While most walleye caught averaged 14 to 18 inches, there are bigger ones there - we caught a couple of walleye 27 and 28 inches. That is awesome that you want to take your son on a flyin. That is something he will never forget. John and I did a fly in, but it was nearly 10 years ago. We went with Air Melancon, but they have since sold out. I honestly don't know much about the new owners. We get literature from them yet. I will try to find it. They call it something else now. We picked a smaller lake. It was good, but we didn't catch any big pike, walleye were in abundance. Quite honestly, Air Tamarac as Jay said would be very high on my list. I have read many good things about them. Just my two cents worth.

@Hodgey1 This is our first time to TML, but my son has been to TBL with us 3-4 times. You stated you went to Reservoir Gouin, how was it? That is one of the lakes that Air Tamarac goes to.
@Jay Thomas reading your trip report/replies may have just convinced me to go to Lac Hebert. Thanks for the info.

Big C, Since that trip was many years ago "20ish" with Air Melancon, I'm probably not the best resource. We flew out of Sainte-Anne-du-Lac to the Gouin. I loved that part of it, definitely added to the adventure. Everything I can remember about the Outfitter was very good. Cabins, boats and trip in and out were all good. The Island had a camp host who fueled our boats and bailed water every day and was very helpful and friendly.
That was my first time ever fishing for walleye in Canada and I didn't have a clue....... :( I don't remember catching many walleye. If I had the knowledge I have now, back then, I'm certain I would have caught plenty of walleye. The group I was with, were there primarily fishing for Northern Pike. So many years later, fishing in Kipawa has been a whole different experience. I caught lots of walleye, granted, not monsters, but many in the slot. I hope wherever you go, that you have a good trip and if nothing else, you will be creating great memories for your son.
@Hodgey1 sounds good. I know I am definitely better at eye fishing then when I first started going to Kip in 2002.

We were up to Anderson's Lodge in the fall flew from London, ON to Toronto, ON then up to Sioux Lookout
Hands down the best operation I have seen located on Lac Seul water system.
One day before lunch we landed easily 40+ fish in an hour.
2nd day we went out lake trout (all day about 25 fish) and 3rd day was Muskie
Check it out you and your son will not be dissapointed. I storngly suggest the american plan (prime rib, cornish game hen etc.) and the cottage right by the dock overlooking the water.
They will pick you up at the airport, drop you off, and possibly even provide you with the suburban while you are there.

I had a couple of great trips with Caesars Lodge. If you do, go to one of the remote lakes, not Gouin Reservoir. My buddy I went with has done both, and said the remotes were better. If you are interested, pm me and I'll tell you the lakes we fished. Caught good pike and walleye each time.

Andersons Lodge is world famous and simply incredible fishing.

Sasseginaga Outpost originally a fly-in camp can now be accessed via logging roads. 50 miles from Temiscaming on gravel roads keeps travelers to a minimum. As a result, there is virtually no local traffic resulting in excellent walleye fishing sizable pike are caught too! Secondly, being a part of the ZEC conservation program, there is no fishing on Lake Sasseginaga from mid October through mid May. Again, keeping the fish population healthy! Fly-in remoteness with the convenience of being able to drive in. No worries on weight limitations like flying. With that being said, if you'd rather not endure the gravel road, float plane service can be provided (at additional cost). Sasseginaga Outpost is approximately 600 miles from central PA. I agree with you that fly-in experience is something nice. It depends on what you want...as an experience Kesagami is unforgettable for the first timer. Their pike fishery has been slipping but if you walleye is your game it's stupid fishing. Fish any point and you will have walleye in 5 minutes...and sooner or later you will run into big pike. Guys go up there with clickers...200 walleye a day no problem. You can get a son discount and later in the season is also cheaper...but the fishing is more evening and morning and slower. They treat you like kings at the lodge.
If that still is a bit pricey then you still can do the outposts up there. Very good walleye and pike fishing on sandy flat lowlands.
One guy who has done a gazillion fly ins is Mike Borger https://www.canadafishingguide.net/ Send him a very specific email of what you are looking for...he will give you some ideas. He just asks that you mention his name when you book.
I know many friends that have gone to Kesagami to guide for a couple weeks, these guys are all true amazing anglers. One thing with that lodge, they bring in great guides and have their regular crew that know the lake.
Seriously....walleye? I can pinpoint the hot spots but then I'd be doing the rest of the lake a disservice. I've been there about a dozen times.
@chiaro another great place to add to the list for research. And this one I can drive to unlike Anderson's.
