Trip Reports / upper Kipawa September 15th
Last post by wvmedic - October 01, 2024, 05:29:14 PM
Made a long weekend trip to Canada from WV. Took my two Daughters who had never been, we stayed in Niagara Friday the 13th. Visited the falls and did the boat ride to the falls. I had never done that in all the years coming to Canada. We headed North on the 14th to Lavigne, Ontario. Got there later than I wanted to, so we just kicked around camp. Sunday the 15th loaded up and headed to Kipawa. My Wife and I booked with 3seasons for August 2025 and wanted to check out the place. So a 2 hour drive and we were putting the boat in the lake. Made the trip to 3seasons and looked around with a tour from the Owners, nice people. After leaving there we fished for a few hours and did some sight seeing. My youngest Daughter caught her first Canadian Walleye, a nice 17.5 inches.

That was the only fish caught on the trip. But they had a blast.

Spent some time on Nipissing Monday showing the Girls and my Wife where it all started for me way back in 1973. They loved that they got to see the lodge where the Hallmark move Return to Christmas Creek was filmed as well.

So sorry to hear. Always willing to give advice on this board. Wish I could have met him in person although I believe we ran into each other on the lake.

darn Dog...that's terrible news...I'm so sorry as I know you shared a special friendship with him.

And though you guys haven't been that active on the forum for a bit, those were some special times when "the guys from Texas" would take the long venture up to Kipawa. A long trip for sure...making it that much more special.

Again...so sorry to hear this news. I wish peace for you and the extended family you share with SgtCrabby.
