General Discussion / SgtCrabby is no longer with us
Last post by Dog - September 18, 2024, 01:33:10 PM
I wanted to let everyone know we lost a good man on the morning of Sep 9th, SgtCrabby passed away suddenly.

The reality of his passing has not set in yet for anyone in our family. We are gathering in Texas end of the month to honor and celebrate his life.

Richard really loved this forum and the friendships it created for him which was the primary reason he became a moderator so I know he would want you all to know.

Tight lines,
Nathan

glad you had a GREAT TRIP. Those turkeys just started showing up around here very recently. Interesting how they adapted to the bush. I used to see tons in the Barrie area.

Trip Reports / Bush Country Camp September 6-...
Last post by fishtildark - September 16, 2024, 09:01:32 AM
Just returned from episode 2 of this years Fishing trips and had another great time . That is tempered with the first two days being cabin bound. We can fish in the rain, or cold ,or wind but all three at once is pretty rough.
After the weather moderated we were able to find some fish but it was slow to improve. the last 3 days were pretty good for the most part all day.. we caught walleyes mostly jigging in 22 to 26 feet and wednesday evening was pretty much non stop action . While we caught mostly in the slot limit we had some smaller indicating the population was healthy. Ate fish 4 times and brought home our limit. Everything at Bush Country Camp  was in top notch condition and no surprises is always nice. One wildlife spotting I have never had in Canada in 35 years was a wild turkey near red pine chute. was on the road and didnt seem to want to go into the bush. 9 months til the next trip.FTD

Just a link here for possibly a good way to maybe target these suspended walleye that may be actively feeding on all these bait balls we have been seeing....gonna give this a go next week and see if we can hook into some fish....now I'm gonna be asking santa for a live scope lol

I'm seeing that too.. Sometimes in and around 40 ft The screen is lit up with marks but nothing bites. Me thinks fish here are too well fed to hit much. Getting a lot of little guys tho...

@Jow thanks for the report.
i have to say we have never seen so many bait balls in our life this years. At times covering the entire screen on the finder. But with that no fish feeding around them.
Dave, from TML, said the same thing. Bait balls like crazy with nothing feeding around them.
