Another great trip to Sasseginega outpost. 5 of us caught 247 eyes and 42 pike. With the first 2 days being hot and than got rained out 2 evenings we did pretty well. Biggest eye 26 and a half and pike was a dandy at 40 inches. This makes 7 years in a row for us and we are booked for next year already. The Stickley’s are making improvements ever year at all the cabins. Boats and motors work great no problems all week. We could have had our number of walleyes up over 300 easily if we went to our normal jigging holes toward evening every night but sometimes you have to explore new spots. Seen 1 dead moose before North Bay and a bear on the way out. Caught a lot of eyes between 21 and26 to be released and had plenty to eat. Bugs where bad but that’s part of it and we don’t mind. Had one new guy with us this year and he had a blast. The only Struggle we had was the morning bite seem slow this year with us, the eyes seem to just play with the crawlers in the mornings but get more aggressive towards dark.caught probably 70 % on worms and jigs than the rest trolling. The roads where nice but the last 20 miles had some rough spots but if they make them all nice than everyone will be fishing there. Now the count down until next year begins.unless I can somehow weasel a fall trip up this year but doubtful with my boy getting married in August. Sometimes there is something more important than fishing. Not much!

Thanks for sharing your experience at Sasseginaga Outpost. The size of the walleyes you caught was very good and a 40 inch gator is always lots of fun. Sasseginaga has lots of water to fish  - one can explore to their hearts content there.

Thanks, Treecutter, it's nice to hear reports from different lakes. Glad you had a great time. 22 days until TBL outpost with my son!!

Jig and drift

Thanks for the report. Figured the bugs would be bad this year with the cool temps and heavy rain. We head north in 7 days !

Tree Cutter how long did it take you on the road in ?

Tree cutter

About 1 hour and half and we was no hurry of course we had people flying by us coming the other way on the first road in I guess they are use to it but man they haul ass on that road. And we did see a couple of guys in a nice truck sitting off the side so they could see both ways so watch going in if you decide to pop open a cold one. We did see 3 or 4 side by sides with bear hunters on the way in. So I don’t know if that’s what they where waiting for or guys coming out from fishing. They weren’t there when we came out
