I'm a little late with my report! We had a pretty good weekend got to Alwaki Saturday morning before the big storm hit. We got unpacked and tried to get out twice both times, came flying back to the cabin ahead of storms rolling through.. They were spectacular!

Saturday afternoon/evening we really struggled to find fish, got some slot fish but nothing to write home about. Sunday morning was a great, we had perfect walleye weather! We found a great pod of fish and stacked them up quickly with nice size fish most were 17 to 19 inches, a little smaller than our spring average but still good eaters.  I didn't count how many we caught but it was fast passed until the end of the wind!

I also got this beast! A personal best and goal of mine to break 30 inches on a artifical! So now my PB is 31 inches!! WOOT!

After the wind died our bite died and we moved around a bunch, trolled a bit and picked up a 25" Laker. Then visited with a friend for a pop and went in for breakfast around noon LOL!

Monday was a totally different day and we moved around a bunch to find fish, spent the evening on a pod of fish between 15 and 17 inches for fun. I don't care who you are but getting a fish every time your bait hits the bottom is fun sometimes. Especially after a very hot tough day of fishing!

We picked up another 25.5 inch Laker trolling on the way home Tuesday. All in it was a pretty good July long weekend. We don't fish much in the summer, we usually chase them early and late in the year because we prefer cooler temps in the boat. We definitely need some summer practice!

Duke wanted to stay another day  but the boss man wants me back in the office Duke, sorry bud!

Can't wait to Labor day!

Nice report and pics GregL!!! Thanks so much!!! That 'eye is a beauty...other than the warts on it (I've never seen that before)...awesome fish. Now, all I need to do is take a good hard look at that landscape to figure out where you got that beast.  ::)  Good work on the 25" laker too....another dandy fish. Glad you had a safe and productive trip...nice work.

Embrace every moment...you only get it once

Thanks All!

Good to meet you to OZ! Can't wait to get riggers and pic your brain!!

I believe this lake has a TON of fish in this class, just gotta figure out where they go in the summer and fall!!

Was a great fight on a light jig'n rod! I actually put 5 in the livewell on plastics. So much fun!

Tina mentioned a few times she saw a mayfly. In hind sight we should have been seeking areas where they like to hatch, I bet that's where they were hiding!
