It is illegal to fish with any live bait from Ontario in Quebec

And yes they do check at the bridge to temiskaming or ask for you Quebec receipt for bait

Years ago, maybe on the old forum someone mentioned getting stopped at the QC border and fined for bringing in leeches from On.

A couple of years ago after reading the reg's I thought it was legal to bring leeches but not 100% sure so I sent an email to the Quebec Ministry asking specifically if I can bring leeches from Ontario into Quebec and the reply was yes.

Maybe the rule has changed or it has been misunderstood by some ministry officials. I printed the email and brought it with Me that year.
I cannot find that email or I would post it. If you really must know, send them an email yourself. I got a reply within a day or two.

I posted the regulations a couple weeks back in another thread and they do not consider leeches or worms as live bait fish, that is what is restricted in quebec.
