Now that we are in 2022 it has finally hit me that I may actually get to go back to Lake Kipawa this year. Was just wondering if any of our Canadian counterparts on this forum have heard or feel there will be any further changes in the requirements for US personnel to cross the border. Will there be a requirement for a booster or do you think the current rules will remain intact?

Obviously a lot could change between now and then but what is your gut feeling?!

We definitely need to get our numbers down in the next month or so and keep them down until snow melts or we are going to be in exact same boat as last year.  Ontario is supposed to relax measures this week.  Quebec I haven't heard anything yet. If numbers are dropping as fast as they say they are then I see everything being ok in spring.  Numbers dropping if relevant because over holidays they told everyone here that if you are sick they are not testing people unless high risk or work in health care.  So no testing means numbers are way lower than actual.

@Ozzy30 thanks for the update. Always good to hear what is going on from the boots on ground.

But I'm also sad now because coming back up is still not a certainty. Will definitely be holding my breath til I actually get through the border, haha!!

Definitely holding my breath on this one...it's been since 2019 for me and we are hoping for a late July trip!

Wish I could offer a better outlook gentlemen, but here in Canada the goal posts continue to move. We've been crossing our fingers for 2 years. As I mentioned last year, and the year before (I hope not next year), this is largely political.

hinorth

Totally Political for sure and as long as the current ring leader is running the circus, we may never get outside the big tarp.

Campkipawa

100% @hinorth . Trudeau will go down as the most divisive PM in Canadian history.

I remain optimistic, especially since they let me in last fall  8)

I can't wait!
