I seen the SOPFEU amended their open fire and forest access yesterday.  Problem is I don't understand exactly what was affected or how.  Anyone know what the amendments actually affect?

We were up till last Fri July 7

Called Quebec police in Temiscaming  They said you can have a camp fire but you need a cage

over it

The sign at the bridge as you cross into Quebec was still there but not lit said nothing

Is it safe to assume since no one is posting about road closures due to forest fires, that it?s no longer an issue ?

I?ll be at Lake Kipawa July 29 to Aug. 3, 2023.

Cheers !

Except for a camp fire ban. roads are open. Business as usual. Now if they can only grade Maniwaki...

600 miles north

First of all, it's been way too long since I've not only been on the forum here, but to Kipawa as well. With the effects of Covid on our world and life in general, Ive been MIA.
I was pleasantly surprised to see many names I still recognize. I hope everyone has been well.
I didn't think I was going to make it up for the fourth straight year, when my fortunes changed! My 13 year old was tugging on my heart strings when he said he barely remembers it up there and was in 4th grade last time we were up. I think its definitely time to make that trip once again. The perfect combination of work slowing enough to catch a breath, and a time that worked out with others who were visiting the cabin couldn't have worked out better.
Anyways, the reason for checking this thread out was the curiosity of the fire situation. Im glad to see that things are much better than they were a few weeks ago. With rain in the forecast much of this week that should only help.
I will be up the 21st through the 26th of July, and even though its not a whole week I'm going to hopefully make every minute of it count.
So yes, I'm still alive! lol my biggest issue has just been I don't sit down long enough to be in front of the computer to read or reply in this forum. Even though I always have my phone on my person... its not easy to read or respond using it. plus not getting to go up in several years, it just kept my mind off the fact that I couldn't be up there.
Be safe and enjoy your time on Kipawa friends!

Hi, Brad! Welcome back to Kipawa. Your daughter's wedding looked amazing, congratulations. Jon and I will be up at Taggarts the same week you and your son will be there. Maybe we'll run into you at the Laniel store again. Good luck and safe travels. Gary (Oarin)

Good to hear from You, Brad. I figured since you moved to Texas, You and Sarge eloped to Mexico or something. Welcome back bro.
