Hello all, first post here.
My dad and I were at Ogascanan from 7/31-8/5.
Weather was good, bugs were scarce (on the island anyway) and fish were on!
Walleye were caught on a mix of trolling hardbaits for pike and jigging, and we found plenty of them.
The biggest walleye of the week (28?-8lbs) took a jig off the bottom right before a storm in the evening but most of our slot fish came while trolling. Taylor and Ferguson bays were both red hot all week.
Pike were on early and late, but the size was lacking a little.  We caught a pair of 30?era and a ton of them from 24?-28? on spoons, cranks, jigs, you name it.
We took around 70 fish for our 4-1/2 days fishing (kept 3 walleyes) from the island outpost.
All in it was a great trip for our first time there and will likely go back.
Also, the Mullens are awesome people that do a great job taking care of camp.

Thanks for the report. Glad  you had a great trip, sounds like it was a winner. Going back to the same lake makes the future years even more special I think.

Sounds like a great trip. 8 LB walleye to boot. Glad the fishing was good and the bugs not a problem.
Walleye Rock!

Thanks guys.  We will most likely go back next year for another round.  We used to run up the Clova Rd to Wapus or Echuoani but fishin ain?t what it used to be in that area.  Same with Cabonga.  The only draw back to Ogascanan was the 14 hour ride home to PA as we didn?t get a hotel to break up that ride.  We did on the way in at the Temrose which made the trip into camp much easier on us.
Here?s a photo of my big eye for the week.
