Flag and I got LC's keel wet on Friday afternoon for a little recon action for a few hours... the sun was out in full effect and we didn't have any live bait so we just did some trolling... picked up 1 crappie on a jointed rapala shad rap.

Saturday we spent from roughly 0900-1500 out on the lake and caught another crappie and 1 smallmouth bass.
nighcrawlers provided more action but all just panfish hits (blue gills etc... ).
Flag got skunked but that didn't stop us from enjoying the gorgeous weather and being on the water.... drinking, smoking cigars, listening to the buccos game

We rdvz'd with @john c  and @Administrator for a few drifts and to catch up a bit... they had more luck with minnows with the crappie as they were reeling them in left and right compared to us.

@getthenet (John and his wife) showed up at the launch as we were pulling out the boats to head home and it was good to meet them in person and make small talk for a while in the parking lot.

This weekend I learned my towing relay converter box crapped out on my 4runner (had turn and brake lights but no running lights on the trailer) so we had to make sure we weren't on the road before sunrise or after sunset with the trailer. I'll get that fixed this month so we don't have that  limitation when pulling LC next year.

Sunday we spent 4 hours prepping the boat for winter storage. With busy upcoming weekends I doubt we get out again before the snow starts to fall... maintenance was easy, rinse off outside (scrub/wipe fiberglass clean below splashrail) spar above the splash rails (Flag is now the master), the inside had more of a process but an easy one (remove floorbaords (10 minutes), dry vac (20 minutes), hose down and srcub then wet vac (40 minutes) Alex (future junkateer rookie), then wipe clean with rag(30 minutes or so)... total took 4 hours start to spar dried and ready to trailer again, looks brand new. Easy day. This winter flag will put another coat of spar on the floorbards in his mancave for something to do fishing related.

no pics sorry.
One more cast...

Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

We got a couple pics of the LC in the autumn sun. Makes you appreciate her more. But our internet is down AGAIN, and I am not tech savy enough to load it from the camera to my phone which is what I am using now. When we get the internet back, will post the pics.

Here are a couple of the pics of the Liberty Call just to make us admire her more.

Lake Wilhelm in my opinion isn't known for the size of fish it produces, although you hear of some really nice bass and walleye taken from there. It was just a crappie day for John and I and this was one of the bigger ones.

Don't let her yank your chain, that was her that added the pictures, she used my computer to do it.

Smile, every one will wonder what you have been up to.
