Hi everyone!!

My friend and I are looking to head up to Kipawa for Walleye opener with the intention of fishing for Walleye and Lakers. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for an area with rustic campsites and good walleye and laker fishing. From what I hear there are lots of unmaintained but great campsites on the Lake. We plan on leaving the sites cleaner than they were before we got there. Getting so excited, it won't be long now!

Cheers

Not sure what size boat and motor you're using but there is a good campsite just south of Alwaki Lodge at:

46°52'05N         78°51'28W

That's approximately 15 miles up the lake from the Gov't dock. Good walleye and laker areas.

we go to Kipawa lodge, Wayne and Barb are amazing and we have had good luck during the opener on that part of the lake, walleye in the morning and evening and you can catch lakers and walleye right out in front of the lodge during the day..

Hey glassyeyes, thanks for the compliments. I was in Kipawa yesterday, still ice but going fast. Should be in camp by the weekend(Sunday). We will have your cabin ready for you when you arrive and bite on,not bugs, fish. ;)
