 I was up for the weekend. Only 3 pike and a nice 5 and a half pound walleye. Spring fishing is always slow here. Picks up big time into July and into the fall. All fish were caught trolling. A worm and jig were useless.
Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

Canuckbass

The guys I go with all used jig/ worm... Nothing!!
I couldn't keep them off a 4" Powerbait Minnow.
Also got a nice laker and pike on same while on walleye spot.

@Canuckbass:
Any chance you'd share what part of the lake you're on?
Thanks for the info!
Taking my two daughters for their first real fishing trip on kipawa at the end of July.....they are pretty geeked!
(can't say I'm not myself:))

Canuckbass

End of July you should be able to find walleye all over the lake.
I fished main lake off island points.

Hey Canuck,
I've always wanted to try the powerbait.  What's your technique with it?
thanks, Kevin

@KSmithy72

Powerbait for main lake I use a 1/4oz jighead. Drop to bottom and reel up a foot. Don't jig hard, just quiver your rod and move slowly. Quivering makes tail move well and you're making it look like a minnow. I use 4" smelt colour with good results.
Walleye hit it hard I find... Plus pike and Lakers.
I won't use live bait anymore.

Thanks for the technique Canuck; I've wondered how that worked.
