Can't wait to hit the road, myself and 2 friends will be headed to Alwaki lodge on Thursday morning...

How is the fishing? Bugs? water level and temperature?  Any body else around the area?

...can't wait...  4 more sleeps (but likely not going to sleep much on Wednesday night so 3.5 sleeps!!!)

I was close by this weekend. Deer flies were crazy during daytime this weekend and mosquitoes were crazy at dusk/ night.

Watkin's 30% Deet helped a lot.

Fishing was on fire Thursday, Friday was a tough bite.

Just got back from camp last night. Was a beautiful weekend but the flies were crazy bad! Lots of deer flies, mosquitoes and even some black flies still hanging around. Once we got on the lake, it was better, mind you, we always bring a thermocell lantern with us. We got a couple of fish each morning, 7 am seems to be a perfect time for us...
Have a great weekend, :)

Will do Rob, stop by Cabin #2 also and say hi... we hope to be in fishing by noon on Thursday (depending on weather and how cold the cold drinks are  ;D)

Sorry just got to read this thread this morning.  We got back on Sat. from Alwaki and will get a trip report together soon but a quick summary is 102 walleye and 36 lakers.  Caught mostly jigging in 18-22 ftw.  Morning and night.  The island just past sunnyside was on fire last Friday morning.  Anytime we spotted bait fish suspended walleye were stacked under them.  Good luck and have a great week.

Nice job Ozzy...good to hear you had a successful week. Your success with lakers blows my mind...you're the guy with the golden touch when it comes to nabbing those. Hopefully we can align our trips up there again and you can share your secrets... [shhhh...don't worry...I won't tell anyone].

How are those post-Alwaki trip blues hitting you?  :'(

It would be nice to align a trip.  The after Alwaki blues are pretty large right now.  I was towing kids on our lake on Sunday and blew my new motor.  Luckily Merc doesn't fool around and they are shipping brand new power head to get replaced.  The lakers were on fire and we didn't even fish them 2 of the days we were there.  That setup I gave you a few years ago is what I catch the majority of lakers on.  Doesn't look like much but boy they like them.  The family made pigs out of ourselves this year and ate a lot of lakers and walleye.  I will get a trip report together this weekend after I get home from fishing and post some pics.  Talk to you soon
