paul sr.

greetings. we are headed to TBL first week of july. my son has a navionics app on his phone which we use when fishing in salt water. does anyone know if that will work or help @ kipawa? btw, will we likely encounter the may fly hatch at that time? if so, does that make walleye bite more difficult? we are first timers to kipawa and new to walleye fishing. we will be happy to get a few and spend time chasing smallies.

I have the navionics chip on my I-pad and it works fine.

You may get the hatch or not.
It's border line at that time.
It never affected my fishing.
I still caught fish during the hatch.
People that DON'T catch fish during the hatch use it as an excuse. ;)
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I have it as well....the app that is.   It works well but there are some areas that I have found (shallow) that were not on it.   My question has anybody upgraded there app for the extra $14.99 and if so did that make any difference to Lac Kipawa in a positive way??

I use Navionics on my fish finder GPS. It is a wonderful tool to use.  I can have a track on it and can turn around and go right back over the same places I was. And mark spots in open water and go right back to them. And if it gets foggy I know right where I am at on the water. As you use it already, I am sure you know this.  As far as the phone I would imagine it would work the same.  I still catch walleye during the mayfly hatch.  I agree with Rhybak. They might sometimes suspend a little more than at other times though. Hope you enjoy your time at Kipawa. I don't know how you won't.  It is a fever and the only prescription for it is more Kipawa. LOL!!
