I was just wondering what the status of the road straightening and widening of Red Pine was. We went through at first of July and all was cut down but not much else. With all the daydreaming of the north with these late season report It made me wonder what's been done or not done. Is that more of a winter project when the ground freezes ??     Thanks to all in advance

On our Sept. trip they had large track hoes (3) and bulldozers (3) in there working in 3 spots.  Since we traveled mid week we had a couple short delays of maybe 3 to 5 minutes each but not too bad.

Smile, every one will wonder what you have been up to.

I went thru on Monday There's lots of heavy equipment and progress made.. Looks like the road beds are in, widening the road  in parts and lots of fill going in. Can't wait to drive it.

I was hoping it was moving along. Will make it a little easier to get to Dumoine or Watson or Ogascanan and lots off others. Funny to get excited about 8 miles or so of road. Thought it was a big deal when 11 went four lanes all the way or when the 407 opened. Those improvements really changed things but this small upgrade really is a big deal in the long run.

Thanks again guys

I'm glad for the improvements, too since we drive back to Watson every year...although, we don't want to make it too easy.  The isolation is kind of nice. ;D

I just got to camp a couple of hours ago. the road in from Maniwaki is about the same. A little rough but NP. Major improvements in where they're re-routing. Seeing as a picture is worth a thousand words I'll just post a few pics. it's really coming along.....

PG thanks for the pictures.  That is amassing undertaking for a short stretch of road. So anybody know why they have decided to spend that kind of $$. ?  Is Tembec behind it ?

Wow, they are making progress big time,  lots of work done since I saw it last summer.
