One of my Christmas gifts this year was a Navionics Update Card which I was able to activate with the Navionics HotMaps card I purchased way back in 2009. Nice to have all that bathymetric data right on my sonar unit.

The wifey got me a computerized telescope so I'll be bringing it north with me to Lake O for some Canada dark night sky gazing this year. Pretty pumped about this new hobby and that I can add it to the fishing expedition.
I can hook up my DSLR up to it and capture the telescopic image as well... hello 2019 trip report!

 Plan your trip around the new moon, Dog. Even a half moon can wash out a big chunk of sky. I've sat at night with binoculars. What looks like an empty section of sky is filled with stars. I sometimes see meteors streaking by. Cool, have fun with that.
