Hi everyone, I have been coming to Kipawa for over 20 years off and on with my Uncle. Can't explain to most people how enjoyable Kipawa area is, but I know all of you on here get it. I have just recently started bringing my nephew the last couple years, and he has caught the pike bug. On our annual trips to Kipawa we always take a couple trips to ZEC Restigo to fish.just got back from this years trip end of May, before bugs got too bad. Had a great trip as always, lots of fish.  Wondered if anyone  with experience in Restigo could give me ideas on which lakes are better for catching Pike. We catch them while walleye fishing in Sairs (Brennan) and up the Garden River. We have fished Goeland (Gull) as well. I just wondered with so many lakes, some must be better for Pike?

Mckillop has big pike in it and is not that far from Brennan

Especially if you are coming from west to east

I heard Goeland had no walleye and was supposed to very good for pike.
So, I’m thinking it’s not all that good if your looking for som thing else?

Crackers42, is that lake in Restigo? I can not find it on the map I got from the check-in shack.

If you book your trip with 3 Seasons Camp you have access to Bat lake. The lake is described as a "trophy" lake and it is catch and release only, although there is evidence at several spots of being popular shore lunch areas.  Reggie has boats stationed there and you can stay as long as you like.  It is much easier to get there now as Reggie provides 4 wheelers to get your butt to the access lake where you cross to get to Bat Lake.  Before, there was approx. a mile or so trek through some bug filled woods which was an adventure in itself.  The general size of the pike from my experience was about 30-32" with a personal best of 38".  There is supposedly pike in the 50" range in there but our group was never lucky enough to catch any of them.  I had a pike hooked in Smith Bay on Kipawa that broad sided a 15-16" walleye. I had him on for about 5 minutes, he just wouldn't let go of that walleye.  My son almost netted them both. If only that net was a foot longer!  That thing stopped about 25 ft. away and just floated on the surface for maybe a minute which gave us a very good look at him. I just reeled it in slowly until he saw the boat and went nuts. That thing had to be around 50" and still haunts me in my dreams.

You don't get these days back.  Live each day as if it were your last and one day you will be right.

If you are coming from red pine by road turn right onto the belle taire and it will be the first bridge you come to

you can back the boat right in on the left before bridge

Years ago before the cottages were on the lake and the lake was higher we would come in by water and float under the bridge

Up through red pine first left go back all the way to end

And yes it is restigo and on the map
