This is for our U.S. friends

In your honest opinion, do you actually feel that you will be seeing Lake Kipawa in 2021?

If these vaccines happen and work as reported then yes I think it could happen.

Oarin

It's not looking good. Too many stupid people down here.

NortonJoe

Yes.  It might be later in the season but I believe vaccine distribution will help. Here's hoping...

If I've learned anything in all of this, I've learned to not attempt to predict what will happen tomorrow, or next week, or next month....certainly not next year.

I'm hopeful a safe and effective vaccine is on the horizon, but I have no idea how this will influence whether or not the borders open or not. Can you imagine a scenario where IF you got the vaccine you get 'stamped' electronically and then you are free to cross the border? Possibly, but who knows....way too many uncertainties.

The only predictable thing is this...whatever happens in the U.S. will happen in Canada about 2-weeks later. Surge in cases, surge in hospitalizations, etc. Other than the difference in population numbers, the 'path' of the virus is the same.

I will admit...through all of this I've become increasingly agitated with my fellow man. No other way to say it, some people are just stupid and righteous and they're ruining it for the rest of us. They don't care though...they only care about themselves and their paper-thin beliefs in "freedom of choice", or their ignorant position that it's nothing more than a bad cold. I've always believed there is a large population of idiots in this world...this pandemic simply cemented that position.

I will also admit I've explored some exciting alternative venues for the 2021 fishing trip to the north. Other than a potentially lost deposit, I may hedge my bet on a trip Kipawa next year.

Oarin

T-Bone would you PM me some of those places? Thanks.

T-Bone

Will do, but fair warning...from your area it would be a 19-hour drive. Stay tuned.

Think at best later summer/fall. Probably depends if our numbers drop as low as Canada. Was reading today that even if you have vaccine that you can still be contagious and pass to someone. That can't bore well for us.

This virus has affected the whole world in a bad way. Being a bit long in the tooth the wife and I have been busy trying to live without getting it. We both have health issues so it would be a terminal thing if we get it. We have adult kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, some of whom think that this is all some kind of deep state thing, and it's all just a hoax. In our huge extended family, we have relatives who have tested positive, are quarantined now, and 3 who actually have the virus. That does not change attitudes in this family! T-Bone is right, as long as there are types of people who just won't believe that the virus is real, we're all screwed. Why would anyone attach some loss of freedom, such as wearing a mask, a sign of weakness?  Forrest Gump was right too, "Stupid is as stupid does." Here in Ohio as in the entire country, cases have exploded. In my opinion guys, the way Trump has handled this virus cost him the election.

This Thanksgiving will be hard on all of us who enjoy the holiday. Not having family together is hard to swallow. But... a sacrifice this year could mean there will be more Thanksgivings in the future. The fantastic news of the vaccines and getting everyone vaccinated will change everything. Any of us old enough to remember polio, know what that vaccine did.  I'm thinking all of you that want to go to Kip next year will be able to, as long as you've had your shots!  That includes rabies, worms and distemper!

You don't get these days back.  Live each day as if it were your last and one day you will be right.

I'm very glad to hear that you and your wife are staying healthy.
Please avoid contact with your infected relatives.

I am never right about these sort of things "Election out comes-Sporting events-Pandemics" I think that there is near zero chance the border will be open next July. So if things go as normal "me being wrong that is" I'll be at Alwaki next summer!

TBone for president makes my gut hurt from laughing. Imagine for a minute  ??? A beer truck making deliveries to the White House daily  ;D and Hodgey1 as Ambassador to Canada  8)

Not gonna see it, because not planning on it. Staying stateside for 2021 at least, possibly longer...
