Just curious if anyone crossed the border into Temiscaming from Ontario and if so if the conditions have been changed or if all is the same as it has been with request from QPP to see a tax bill, questions on where and why you're crossing and being told to not stop anywhere? Leaving, getting waved through by OPP if you have Ontario plates.  Just wondering if there have been any noticeble changes yet?

This should help bring everybody up to speed, hopefully.have heard reports of QPF or suretted'quebec picking off Ontario Residents travelling in Quebec and fining them $1500.

In camp now.
Passed over  bridge today, June 7, at about  12;30pm
OPP were there but as usual did not stop me

QPP were no where to be seen.  I was prepared for the usual owner, going  to do maintenance work but nothing

Don't know if  restrictions are lifted or too hot or on lunch or on shift change

I guess you take your chances.

It would be devastating to drive five hours just to be denied entry

I think an owner can get over the border to do maintenance work.

Not sure about guests/visitors.

Yes it can be a long way on a hunch.

Here's what I know, Quebec side continues to be enforced.  There are times that some of the guys and gals take off for lunch, a neighbour saw them at the IGA grabbing lunch just after they had passed and no one at the checkpoint.  Also, some officers are more diligent than others, for example yesterday I had to head to North Bay for supplies and crossed around noon and no Quebec checkpoint set up, on the way back mid afternoon and they were there.  This guy just asked where I was headed and I told him just going to the cottage, at other times had to provide tax bills and or reason, and have also been scrutinized a bit regarding maintenance and emergency maintenance...so nothing is consistent for sure.  OPP are on the heavily enforced 24hrs but don't care as long as you have an Ontario plate. Hope this helps a bit.

I'm going back to camp tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll time it for lunch lol.

I crossed into Quebec on Saturday, the QPP we there and asked a few questions.  I was going for maintenance and returned to Ontario on Sunday.  The OPP stopped me asked what I was doing, I told them heading home and was allowed to cross back.

You guys realize that the OPP and SQ think this absolutely ludicrous that they have to man a post at the border right?
There are more important things to enforce and they would like to do that.

The local NB detachment have spent a million dollars already on this hairbrained scheme.

Yup, more than you could ever imagine, just trying to help the community out, some have to travel on a gamble a long ways.
