My group has decided to go to the BWCA  . I have not fished out of a canoe in what seems like forever . we have a entry date of august 3
for Brule lake .  God know I miss Kipawa next year I need to stay for 2 maybe 3 weeks .

Good for you for pressing on! Next year would definitely call for a longer stay at Kipawa, to make up for lost time.

Call me the eternal optimist, but I'm holding out hope we get up to Kipawa this year yet. If not late-July, then hopefully late-September.

I will admit I'm miss it terribly, but am not willing to go the "alternative route" to attempt a reasonable replacement.

Good luck JW...hope you have a great trip...

We've scheduled a replacement trip to Chaumont Bay, on Lake Ontario, coming up in a few weeks. Made plans in March in case the border wasn't going to be open for our typical July trip. But we also have a reservation on Kipawa for September, IF things open up.

If anyone has any experience on Chaumont, we'd love to hear from you.

Looking forward to both of these trips.
