Now that we are locked in for our September KIP trip. We are looking forward to the Thanksgiving weekend :)

I think I've asked this before but I'm not sure. We used to go to Nipissing on thanksgiving but they have dropped the limit to 2. We don't
get out very often so for what it costs to rent a cabin , we want to come home with fish and 2 ain't enough LOL!

Does anybody know a lodge that rents to families that fish this time of year on Kip?

I've been thinking of trying Lake Temagami, if we can't find a place on Kipawa. Anybody fish it for walleye, how's the population?

Ozzy30

We were there in spring and did catch some walleye but had to work for them.  We did better on the lakers but I'm not sure that late in season if they are open up there.

GregL

If I understood the reg Lake Temagami Lakers close Sept 30th

Ozzy30

The way I read it you can catch and keep lakers in the slot up to labour day which is Sept. 6th but you can still fish for them until Sept 30th but not keep any.  1st time I've ever seen that regulations

GregL

Ya that is odd!.. Temagami sounds like a nice place to vacation, but it's a BIG body of water and I'm not sure the walleye population is any better than nip.

Balsams

Really nice place. In the upper west arm, have found limited walleye and pretty good laker fishing. Sharprock Inlet…trolling around in Spring. Long boat ride and pretty much private island cottages only. Worth a run up there. Pike and bass too.

GregL

Thanks! I've been reading only limited walleye, surprising to a lake that size.

I would really prefer to go to KIP but I cannot find a cottage rental that time of year, so it's probably going to be Nip again. At least we know the area and can find some fish!

Greg you may want to check out Loon Lodge on lake Temagami. The new owner Adam Pugh has been doing quite well this year. A guide I know and some of his buddies did quite well for Walleye this summer. Adam has been posting some pics of amazing Lakers they have been jigging up as well as a good number of Walleye. Check this out.

Greg:

Try Camp La Lucarne - Website located in Lake Kipawa Area Outfitters

Good Luck
Ray.

Do you have your own boat or in need of an outfitter or cottages that provide a boat as well?

GregL

Thanks all for the input!

Yup we have our own boat.

I did speak with Loon Lodge, he was very responsive and his prices are ok.
We may spend a week on Temagami at some point to get a feel for the lake.

We want to stick with what we know this year, since most of our trips have been kyboshed due to the lock downs, we are going for a sure thing LOL!
So we booked on Lake Nipissing West Arm again.
