Is there any item(s) that is an annual staple of your trip to the Kipawa area that you almost never indulge in at home, even if you easily could?  Whether food, snacks, booze, etc…

My main thing is horseradish sauce.  I really like it but never have it in the fridge at my house.  But it’s a must have for the Kipawa trip.

Another is the actual Slim Jim’s.  Over 4 decades with them as a boat snack even though they won’t be found in my cupboards at home.  I’m assuming fondness for Slim Jim’s is because they’re conveniently individually wrapped unlike other meat sticks/hot bologna that I may consume at home or Kipawa.

T-Bone

Fishing for a week straight. Other than that, no difference between home and Kipawa...though beer consumption when at Kipawa is 3-4x normal rate than when I'm at home.

Condiments in my fridge at all times: St. Elmo's Horseradish, HP Sauce, 57 Sauce, A1 Sauce, 5-6 different mustards, and the normal mayo, ketchup, etc.

I have horseradish at least once a week here at home...
Embrace every moment...you only get it once

Oarin

Zeigles natural skin pop open white hots and Weber's horseradish mustard. They're our lunch a few days during our week.

I have to state the obvious, it's walleye.....we rarely eat fish so when we catch it at camp, it's a real treat!

LanielKid

Coaticook Ice Cream. That stuff is thick.

Makes good leach buckets too.

Everybody is a genius.
But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Lotta mention bout Horseradish... if you like tears in your eyes, try The Keg brand.  It's wicked.  Good on prime rib, for making seafood cocktail sauce and of course in your dockside / fireside ceasars.

I see a get away like going to Kipawa as a reason to splurge on out of the norm goodies. When its a guys trip, A bottle of higher end bourbon, like Woodford Reserve. Deluxe mixed nuts, you know the ones, with little to no peanuts. Cheese curls  ;). When my wife and I go in the fall, I always bring lamb chops and flavored pretzel pieces.
Walleye Rock!
