Navionics Changes

So I didn't renew this year before going on our trip. I am sure I had sonar charts and mostly 1' contours on this lake BUT I could not get them to display this time.

I have read online now the 1' contour info are now disabled (among other functionality that doesn't work on my graphs anyways) when your card expires!
Support says no but I could have sworn I had more detailed charts last year. Ya, I have custom charts made as well but I like the 1' contour info for parts I have not mapped myself yet.

So I renewed because I can no longer select other bodies of water to download with a expired card. Now with the new card you are no longer allowed to pick specific lakes to download you have to do the entire region. this kind of sucks, will see how much it slows my graph down!

I had that issue with my old navionics chip but the new chip is already downloaded with all lakes ontario and quebec that navionics has.  I know if new lakes and greater detail becomes available I won't be able to get them without signing up

Don't put your expired card in the chart loader!! I swear I had 1' contours in some places on kip last year. I think they disable that feature now when it's expired.. I put the new one in and voila 1' contours!!

I don't have the old card anymore, traded it in on the new one.
