Been staying in Andy's camp for 25 years and heading back up this year, last week of July...anyone else stay there or fish the Waston Lake, Grassy and Wolf lake trio?

Have fished Watson for about 15 years mostly in May or June, but only 2 or 3 times in July.
As far as areas are concerned, behind the little island, down the Lake on Andy's side, both tips of the big island, entrance to Kipawa River and down past the huge boulders until entrance to Wolf.

Hi Ray...Joe Kernan from Norton, Ohio (just west of Akron). Started fishing Watson, Grassy and Wolf (before the ZEC) in 1988 and been there all but two or three years since.  We usually go in July or early August which makes the walleye bite a bit more challenging, but we've only been skunked a couple times in 25 years and dont have nearly the bugs to deal with.  For walleye, we generally head to the river just before Wolf Lake, the front of the big island or off the far tip at the back of the island.  We've also had luck in the river where the bridge used to be and above the first rapids at the bend as you go into the river towards the second rapids before Grassy.  When the water is sufficiently high we will drag the boats up the second rapids into Grassy (about every third trip).  On occassion jigging right out in front of the camp has worked well.  As far as pike are concerned (which I love to fish for), there are lots of great bays and weed beds to cast into to drag those monsters out!  Now and again, when the water is high enough, we have driven the boat up the stream at the end of the one finger and casted out that small lake up there...some nice pike in that little lake.  We are heading back up this year the last week of July and really looking forward to it as I have missed the last two years.  Any info on Andy and Gladys? They well and camp still operating?

That little lake off the left arm is called Horseshoe, but some people call it Lost Lake. Also have had good luck there for Pike.
I will try to get you some info on the condition of Andy's health.
BTW any relation to Joe Kernan (deceased) from Iowa? He was married to my wife's cousin.

We never really called that little lake anything...maybe Pike Lake now and then.  Thanks for scaring up info regarding Andy and Gladys.  And as far as I know I'm not related to Joe Kernan in Iowa (although you can never know all those distant relations!)

Hey Joe, How's the Flooding down there? We got it bad here on my street, am still drying out.
Andy seems to getting better so far. My sources tell me that the Camp will still be open as long as they have bookings. I suggest you get ahold of Gladys to confirm.

In areas it was pretty bad..we escaped the worst of it.  I sent Andy and Gladys a letter about a month ago but I will call to confirm, do you have a current number?

Well, I got all my gear together along with the supplies I was assigned to purchase and took it over to be loaded in one of the trucks heading north this Friday. I'm really looking forward to getting on the road...I haven't been up to Canada since 2011.  We usually stay the night in North Bay and then head back to camp on Saturday morning after our final grocery store stop.  I've missed it and am looking forward to July 25! Just 5 days!
