New to Us Camera, Pictures in Boat, Older People, Good For a Laugh

Told this story to a young lady we know that happened at Ogas this year. Last fall we bought a new to us camera off Ebay, Nikon D3100. It is probably more camera than I should have. When we got the manual with the camera it was in Spanish, so not much help there. Quite honestly, I didn't play around with it as much as I should have before the trip. John and I are always thinking we might see a moose and would like a big lens to get a picture of it. The camera came with a small lens and the large one, 200x. When we were packing for the trip, John said I don't think we need the smaller lens. So we just left the bigger lens on the camera and packed it. We also had the smaller camera with us that we have had in the past. So when I caught that grandma walleye, I hustled around and got the camera out of the bag and handed it too John. Held the fish up and John says, "I can't get the whole fish in the picture, back up!" I backed up, the same wonderful words came from his mouth. I responded "The boat is only 16 and a half foot long!" I was beginning to wonder if he just wanted to see me wet. If we didn't get along so well, the thought had crossed my mind that maybe he was just trying to get rid of me. But he was then able to back up enough to get the whole fish in the picture. 

This friend has the same camera so she knew exactly what we were dealing with. She thought it was pretty hilarious.

one camera all in one with a 200x zoom lense.
no big bulky lenses to carry around.
