Got back from TBL on Friday, another great time on the lake. Once again the weather played a big part in our success. Fronts moved through the area most days. Really hard rain one day and 2-3 foot rollers on the main bay on another. We marked loads of fish but for the most part they weren't interested. I had the most luck with a red hook and leech in 24-18 feet. Most of our walleyes were 14-15 inches and went back into the lake. We did get some nice eaters and I got one of my largest at 24 inches. I also had 2 monster bites break me off. If they were walleyes they were big! Some at camp did really well-Mike and Kathy E. and a few other hard fishermen(women), but most had the same trouble with bites that we did. I guess they previous week was much better fishing. How many times have I heard that!! Now the wait for next year!!! Oarin.

I've got pictures, but the uploading is really slow. I'll try to add them latter.

Great pictures!  Is that an "Ilot poutine" from the Canadian? Was the only place I've ever seen them! Soooo good, almost impossible to finish the plate lol

No Michelle, it's from the Tem Rose and wow, was it good!! It's called the Island Burger. That's a hamburger with a slice of cheese on top in the middle. We stayed at the Tem Rose Petite Auberge. It is really nice and only $109 per night. Two big separate bedrooms!

Another great report! Thanks for sharing
And yes, temiscaming area poutine as a whole is as good as it gets...

Great report Oarin...thanks. "You should'a seen the fishing last week..." comment made me LOL. We've all heard that a million times. Nice wally you got there, but in all honesty the poutine looks way more appetizing.  ;D

Just for a baseline, if you had to estimate, how many walleye did you catch last week, and how did that compare to your earlier trip? I'm just curious as we always talk about "a second trip" to be scheduled around this time of year, but fear the fish are already getting tight-lipped and disinterested.

How was that Auberge Temrose? Looks pretty nice. I think for a small group of maybe four people it could work.
Embrace every moment...you only get it once

Maybe 30 or so. In my opinion July is better. The auberge is really nice and Tem Rose's food is better.

Kill Switch

Tem Rose pizza might be one of the best on the planet.

I know where my son and I will be stopping for lunch on our way to TBL next year on July 22nd!  Thanks for sharing.  I'm going to try the red hooks when I make a batch of wobble jigs to see how that works.
Love fishing
