It's not looking good. Those keeping an eye on lake Temagami are not too hopeful for an early breakup.

I am in Kipawa for a couple of days and I think reggie's guess of May 5th will be close. Most of the bays  are open and the ice is getting black

for all those looking at the web cams , I stumbled on a new one that is probably about a hundred air miles from Kipawa.. Gowganda lake lodge has one that is current . over the last couple days , a lot of progress, but still a ways to go. 36 days for those walleyes to spawn, rest up and wait for me. Happy May 1.
So many lures and so little time.
