Got up to Lake Kipawa for a quick over nighter this past weekend, July 4 and 5. Fishing was slower than expected, Saturday evening we headed out for a pickrel jig, which propduced nothing except a couple light bites. I could hear the other boats in the vicinity talking and it didn't seem they were having any better luck. I decided to switch up the presentation and troll worm harnesses, which resulted in 3 walleye between the two of us, nothing to write home about, but got the skunk out of the boat, and provided a good late night snack. I am at the south end of the lake (Lac Green area), so typically the walleye aren't as plentyful as up the lake, but it was still slow even by our standards.

Saturday afternoon we decided to take a troll for lake trout as they are normally quite a bit more producive at our end. Trolled for about 2 hours and nothing more than a single bump. Was dissapointing as the shoreline we trolled can normally produce double digits in lake trout in just a couple hours. Sunday was a hot, calm and sunny day, so maybe that had somethnig to do with it, but over all the fishing was slow. But anyday on the water is a good day, so no tears were shed.

ANY IDEA WHAT THE SURFACE TEMP. IS?

Was 65' Saturday, 68' Sunday... I'd take Saturday as the more accurate reading as Sunday was hot and calm which probably raised the surface temp just for the day.
