More open water than ice on Temiskaming now ;D ;D

Kipawa is showing ice free areas in some narrow areas, likely some current. ;D ;D

Soft water season is approaching

Muskoka area big lakes are all open water now, usually a couple weeks ahead of Kipawa.

Hopefully May long weekend we're not in the water repairing cribs looking at ice on shorelines...

It looks like it'll be clear in two weeks. I'm going up to camp about the same time for a couple of days to check on things.
Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

With the warm temps and rain, the last of the ice melted on the lake at the cottage due east of parry sound. So nice to see the open water again...what a change from one day to the next. An absolute ton of water fowl on the water from buffleheads to mergansers to loons to swans. Cormorants have been spotted the odd time last few years so we hope not to see them for awhile...will chase them away with the boat again.
