I have a house near Albany also Ziggy.  Chatham/Kinderhook area.  Thats where I do my deer slaying when im not busy fishing lol.  Going out on Monday (July 10) to Montauk Striper fishing.  That is a whole other obsession of mine.  I do alot of night tide trips with live eels.  So much fun.  I recommend that to everyone in this group who loves to fish.  If you ever get a chance to come to NY to ocean fish, you gotta go to Montauk and bait fish for Striped Bass.  Some of the best fishing in the world in Montauk.  Bass up to 50+ lbs.  Im always setting up trips, so if anyone is ever interested send me a message and I can set something up or hook you up with a bunch of great captains I fish with.

I agree @PETERBFLY;  it is definitely worth the drive in.

Sometimes the return trip isn't as much fun though.

You aint kidding lol.  Add a lot of depression and it really makes it sucky.  I hate packing up and leaving Kipawa.

Peter, With you!  I do my Striper fishing on the Cape , love to use the Kayak...  not as tranquil as fishing lake Ogascanan with all the boat traffic but has its exciting moments.

I hammered a 46lb and 42lb Striper this past week out in Montauk.  Two of my biggest to date.  The fishing Gods have been great to me so far this year.
