Apologize for the delay in the fishing report, but between work, trying to prepare a home for sale and building a home it has been a little crazy.

First I'll start with accommodations at TBL that our hosts provided us.  Our cabin (#3) was more than enough for the three fisherman since we each had a room for our clothes and for bedding.  I didn't realize that my son and I had stayed in the cabin a few years back until I was viewing some old images on my digital frame that showed the same cabin, but without the spacious deck that Yves put on all the cabins.  We also chose the meal plan (my son doesn't cook like Gary's) as usual and we were not disappointed by the quality and quantity of food.  I think I gained a few pounds over the week.  The equipment was fantastic again.  We were provide a 25hp motor for our boat and we had no problem getting around the lake even with three grown (not necessarily mature) men in the boat.  According to Lowrance we got up to 21 mph a few times.  We were also provided plenty of firewood for the evening, which was great, but the amount of fires inversely correlated with the amount of early morning fishing we did.

Fishing was very challenging for us this year.  It seemed like the wind changed direction almost everyday and the fish were not where we thought they were going to be.  We did come home with our limit of walleye and ate a few while in camp, while throwing many back to catch again next year.  Still have much to learn, but I wouldn't trade the week on the lake for almost anything.   We caught walleye at times where we expected, deeper water (16' - 21')next to shoals.  Caught most walleye in 1/8 oz Erie jigs and  1/16th oz. wobble jigs that I made.  Popular color was white with a red hook and an equal number of fish were caught on night crawlers and leeches.  Just depended on the appetite of the fish on a given day.  We also caught a few walleye in less than 10 feet of water a couple days while we were fishing mid-day for bass.  Go figure!  We also caught a few perch, which were very small and ran into a few suckers.  We trolled a bit for walleye and the blue and silver hot-n-tot was the favorite.  As usual, brought too much tackle as most of it didn't get wet (except for possible the rain)

Booked for next July 21 - 28 and already counting down to our next trip to Taggart Bay Lodge to see our friends and great host Lise and Yves.
Love fishing
