Hello all,

Back in 2004 I arranged a trip for four of my friends and myself. We decided to go to Two Moon Lodge on Lake Kipawa the last week of September (What an absolutely beautiful time of year that proved to be). We were all novice walleye fisherman (pretty much still are) but we enjoyed and had good success fishing for pike on other lakes and rivers that we had fished. We caught a few pike and one small walleye in two whole days of fishing and were getting frustrated to say the least. Luckily, there were two other fisherman staying in another cabin at the lodge that we hit up for information on how to catch walleye and where to catch them. The rest of the week we did catch our share of walleye and a few lake trout also (they were out of season though).

The best memory I have from the trip was the shear beauty of Lake Kipawa and I vowed that one day I would return. As luck would have it this year I had enough of saying "well, maybe next year" and booked a trip for my family to go this time. We will also be staying at Two Moon Lodge in less than two weeks and are very much looking forward to it (probably me the most). We plan to fish, swim, relax, fish and relax some more. Two Moons is now under new ownership and all I have heard and read about them has been positive.
Been lurking for a while (I was also a member of the Kipawa.net site), but just wanted to say thanks to all who contribute their knoweledge and experiences on Lake Kipawa to make this a great site.

@Ozmo; First welcome to the board.

I like your description of your first trip to Kipawa. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, you can get answers here on different techniques how to catch walleye.  This is a friendly and helpful group here.

Ozmo

Thanks guys.

Get the net, hope you have a great time too! I'm sure I'll spend some time down around 3 seasons area, I'll be the guy that looks like a first mate on a charter boat with my wife and two teenage kids. Pretty sure my wife and daughter will not even think about touching leeches, but they both like to fish ;D. If I don't run into you good luck and I hope you have a great trip!

GregL, it's either now or never for us, as my daughter will graduate this coming year, then who knows when we would have the opportunity to go again as a family. Hope you have a great weekend coming up!

Question for all, can you buy semi bulk quantities of worms and leeches without ordering them ahead of time at pronature?

Canuckbass

@Ozmo Pronature had containers of 100 worms. Kept them out of the sun and on ice if you can.

@Canuckbass ;  do you happen to know how late Pronature is open?  Particularly on a Saturday.
I believe they usually close before we get there,  maybe our driver this year needs to hurry a little more - wait, that's me; I better hurry some (and not get a speeding ticket either!).

Sarg., the hours I could find are Mon.-Wed.-9:00-5:30, Thurs.-9:00-8:00, Fri.-9:00-6:00, Sat.-8:00-4:00, Sun.-11:00-3:00. Hope that helps. Their leeches are really nice this year.

Give Sebastion at Pronature a telephone call at 1-819-627-9432 to ensure there's no surprises.

Thanks @Canuckbass and @Jay Thomas,  making it by 4 may be a bit hard to do, we are coming past Erie,  PA that day.  Lots of distance and lots of time.

If we can make it;  great.
If we don't make it;    oh well, we'll just get all of our worms from the Mullens then.
