Not necessarily the greatest picture but that is either a pike in the bottom left corner thinking about snacking on the Walleye I caught or the Kipawa Monster.. Take your pick!!

Mike,

A great trip report and awesome pics. I had never seen any go pro pics from up there. I really enjoyed seeing them. Thanks a bunch for the report and the pics.

Great report Mike. I love the photos as well.

Must agree with others on the travel..... ugh. I can make it to Kip in 8ish hours but wish it was 4. My brother lives in Birmingham and will be fishing with me this year. He’s going to fly into Erie, not far from my home and drive up with me, cannot wait!

Another one of my theories is that if I am going fish anywhere in the US where I can catch Walleye and a few other game fish in the same lake I have to drive 13 hours minimum already so might as well go to a really nice place to fish!  In the old days living in Pennsylvania we would go up to Kipawa for one or two long weekends a year even.  Drive up Friday, Fish Saturday and Sunday and com back Monday.

But I do hate the drive!!

@Hodgey1 Good luck on your trip, we will all await the report!

Thanks Mike! Where in PA are you from?

@Hodgey1  Originally from Ligioner, PA which is very nice little town 1 hour east of Pittsburgh in the hills.  I fished as a kid in every creek, spring, pond, lake, river and water glass that I could get a line in growing up. Hiking, hunting and fishing was on the schedule every week.  Raystown Lake was my first fishing camping trip with my dad I remember as a warm up to going to Canada which was a huge lake also but we caught I believe 4 bass in 3 days and we were working hard at it.  Then the first Canada fishing trip followed by Florida trips, and I have dropped a line in many of the rivers and lakes out west while traveling so I can say I have dabbled in every type of fishing imaginable.. even noodled.. which I still debate the "fishing" aspect of that.  Even with trying so much every day is a learning experience on the water - like using leeches on a jig this year.  I used twisty tails (I call them) on jigs fishing for bass in PA and MD but never thought about it for Canada.

for the past 15 years I have lived in the Florida Keys.
