Thanks @Gordo2270 , I will be watching like a hawk after your tips and other reports of a tangled/ruined transducers. If I get a chance, I will video my install if it works as I think it will and post here.

I ended up using a modified version of this videos installation of my transducer and it worked great.  https://youtu.be/_iX6sDkv1EY  The wire mesh sleeve is the key, it allowed the motor to rotate and not grab and tangle the wire of the TD. I will post some photos or video of my install soon.

As a side note: iPilot is amazing and a real game changer/improvement to my fishing. I give it a 10 out of 10.
