Has anyone used one of these for making knots for bobber stops?  www.netknots.com/knot_card/spot-knot1
I've had the bobber stop knot come undone before so I had to cut my line to put a new one on, or I would go from deep water to shallow and not want to slip the stop a long way down the line so I would cut the line to put a second one on-I do this more for ice fishing.

JF, I like that. I wonder if they're sold in stores?

Neat idea, but I have to admit I rarely suffer a mishap with the little rubber stops (versus using tie-on line stops). And, if I do, I go to slip bobber rod/reel rig #2 without missing a beat. If I fudge that one up, then I deserve the indignity of tearing it down and re-rigging. You just have to hope the bite isn't crazy fast at that moment. But then again, if it was, I'd be casting a light jig and twister tail with the appropriate speed of retrieve...which is rod/reel rig #3.  :P

Embrace every moment...you only get it once

JF, I just ordered 1, if it comes before my July trip I'll let you know how it worked. Thanks,Oarin.

Looks like the way to go, Jiggin, to add, or replace a stop.  I usually use Thill's weighted, center hole bobbers with the metal inserts. Line slides through the bobber much easier and being weighted, the bobber floats consistently erect.  Less chance of line hanging up, not allowing bait to submerge to the stop depth.  I haven't had the best results using the rubber stops. After adjusting them for a time I've had the line actually cut through the rubber. I think with a little effort, something similar could be made using a simple dowel rod, maybe even a sturdier (plastic) straw, and some braided line.

You don't get these days back.  Live each day as if it were your last and one day you will be right.

I've never used the Thill's weighted center hole bobbers, guess I'll need to pick some up.  Thanks.

JF, got the bobber stop knot gadget today. Doesn't work well on 6 lb test. Looks like I wasted $8 but it was worth the try. Oarin.
