Thanks again everyone.

As of 1.5 weeks ago I now have Four grandchildren! My oldest daughter and her husband "J Bears Parents" just  gave me my fourth GC, as well as my second granddaughter "Bea Eloise". She's beautiful, but we still haven't been able to hold her because of all this Covid stuff, its awful. Another one of the many things making my head hurt currently. We are very lucky that they live next door, so we've been able to see her "Socially Distant"                         Grrrrrr.

As soon as it makes practical sense to do so, I want to take the Grand Kids fishing in Canada. J Bears is getting close to mature enough, my other Grandson Bentley will be 4 this week and he's a personality that I think is ready to go now!  :D

One thing I dream about, that helps with the insanity, is I would like to retire in the next 4-5 years. My thought is to book well in advance Three cabins, one for each of my kids families and spend a week at Kipawa with them and time it so I clock out of work and into a trip to Kipawa. I would book my cabin for two weeks, so once all the young-ins are gone, I can also chill for a week. Ahhh...... Two weeks in paradise!

I have excuses a mile long.....  :(

The other complication is Lake Erie, its a monster at times, so the window has to be perfect for me to venture out.

That sounds like when my boat was on Georgian Bay. I got blown off that lake too many times when I had limited times to get out. 3 kids, their sports and mine etc. You guys know....
Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

As I continue to try to make the best of this time off and no trip to Kipawa, we dunked the boat into Lake Erie. Because my intel was reporting a walleye tournament tomorrow, we arrived at the boat ramp at 4:45a. I’m still trying to recover from that. There were already many boats at the dock.

We were in the water by 5:15 and in our spot by 5:45, fishing by 6:00. We were fishing 70’ of water and trolling small spoons off the DR and deep diving sticks “Bay Rats” off the flat lines. My son-in law Chad and I trolled west for an hour and picked up two but seeemed slow. The fish all looked deeper than the flat lines could reach, so we pulled them and added dipsy divers. I am not a fan, the realeses are junk and if they feel like it they will swim to the surface and tangle other lines.

We had to be out of the water 10:00 ish because of me hosting my Grand son’s 4th birthday and he asked me to make pizza. How could I say no? We ended up with 6 nice fish, The range was 18-22” nice eaters as @fishtildark mentioned. They will be! After we finished cleaning the fish, I asked Chad if he wanted a beer, I went to the fridge and saw two  Blue’s from my last trip to kipawa, it was a bit of a solemn tribute to the week that wasn’t.

Thanks for your report Chris. Thanks for referencing the pictures too. I trust your grandson enjoyed his pizza. Our family celebrated my 13 year old grandsons birthday here yesterday.

@Fort Wisers  @GregL @Captain Steve  I truly hope some day, when the world is less a mess, to cook everyone here a pizza. I suck at fishing, but do make a decent pizza!
